Monastic architecture has not always survived the attacks of Time. Over the centuries, numerous alterations have been made. This is the case of Le Vigan Church. Founded by a very old religious community, there are references to it from the year 900 onwards, but we know that in 1287, a new church was being built on the same spot. At the end of the 15th C. the church, either unfinished or very badly damaged, was rebuilt. The roof vaults were raised.
